Meet the Gem Scout

Hi, I’m Veronica Ceaser - better known as The Gem Scout. For more than two decades, I’ve devoted my career to the long-term care industry, walking alongside nurses, healthcare leaders, and organizations as they navigate the challenges of providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.

My journey began at the bedside, but quickly expanded into leadership roles where I could make a broader impact. Over the years, I’ve served as a Director of Nursing Services, MDS Coordinator, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Consultant, and now Vice President of Clinical Reimbursement for Southwest LTC LLC. These roles have given me a unique perspective: I understand the realities of patient care and the complexities of leadership, compliance, and reimbursement.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been sharing knowledge on a national stage. I’ve presented for organizations such as the Ohio Health Care Association, Texas Health Care Association, Care Providers of Oklahoma, and OANAC, focusing on topics like clinical quality, risk management, and reimbursement strategies. Every time I step in front of a group of nurses or administrators, I see the incredible potential they hold - and I’m passionate about helping them bring that potential forward.

My Mission

At the heart of it all, my mission is simple: to help nurses and healthcare organizations uncover the hidden gems within themselves - their expertise, their leadership, and their ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients they serve.

Veronica Ceaser is a nurse with an unwavering dedication to the long-term care industry, amassing over 20 years of experience in roles such as Director of Nursing Services, MDS, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, and Consultant. She is a past president of the Ohio Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (OANAC). Veronica is Board Certified in geriatrics and case management and is a Board-Certified Nurse Executive. Her tenure as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and her extensive clinical knowledge equip Veronica with a unique and dynamic perspective to assist her clients.

Veronica is also a national speaker, offering education for esteemed organizations, including the Ohio Health Care Association, Ohio Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators, Texas Health Care Association, and Care Providers of Oklahoma on Clinical Quality, Risk Management, and Reimb
